Updating our recent Long Beach Comic-Con post, we’re pleased to announce that production designer Greg Aronowitz will join the festivities and participate in the 10:15AM walking tour, the 1PM Q&A and the 2PM – 4PM signing (The Guild’s schedule is here).

For the first time, The Guild will be offering a high quality poster of Greg’s variant cover art for The Guild: Clara (one-shot) comic for $10, with Greg on hand to autograph them at the signing.

Admission to the signing limited, tickets will be given out at the Q&A.

 We know that last one is a ways away, but our UK Guildies often feel neglected so we’re excited to finally get across the pond (or return, in Felicia’s case) to meet with fans there.

There will be no Guild panel this year, however we will have a booth with several signings scheduled (stay tuned to our Twitter and Facebook for schedule announcements). Cast members Vincent Caso, Felicia Day, Amy Okuda and Robin Thorsen will be in attendance. The cast will also be special guests at the Curse party Friday night (October 21, 2011) at the Hilton.

Connecting with the fans is always our top priority at Comic-Con, so the cast was busy every day with one or two signings at our booth.  Hundreds of fans came by daily to get autographed posters, DVDs and other merchandise, and get a few minutes and a photo with the cast.  Between our awesome intern Sophia and a crew of volunteers (most of whom were extras in Season 5), we kept the lines moving quickly and the cast full of coffee (or tea with honey, in Felicia’s case).

The cast and crew attended lots of parties and even made some additional appearances, such as Vork’s appearance at w00tstock, continuing his standup career.

We also try to talk with the press, and between The Guild, Eureka and Dragon Age: Redemption, Felicia was booked solid from morning to night doing interviews and appearances.  We also lined up interviews for other cast members, and will post those as they go live.  Here are a few of the great stories mentioning The Guild:

On Saturday we had our panel in the jam-packed Indigo Ballroom and announced three new cast members for Season 5: Doug Jones, Erin Gray and Maurissa Tancharoen.  We announced some new licensing deals, which we’ll round up in another post over the weekend.  We screened a Season 4 recap along with episode 1 of Season 5. Marc Hustvedt has a great writeup of the guild panel (‘The Guild’ Season 5, Comic-Con, Honeybadger and Jones Soda) on Tubefilter, and you can watch the panel itself here or here.

The Guild panel at 2009 Comic-Con

The Guild will be at Comic-Con!  We’re pleased to announce that we’ll have a booth, a panel, new merchandise and some surprises.  For the second year in a row, we’ll be sharing a booth, so you can find us listed in the exhibitor guide under “Signal Fire Studios/The Guild” and we’re at booth 4201.  We can confirm that, at this time, the entire cast of The Guild will be in attendance, and we will have at least one signing opportunity per day at the booth.

The Guild’s panel is scheduled for Saturday, July 24th from 2pm to 3pm in the Indigo Ballroom at the Hilton Bayfront hotel, recently announced as one of the new official venues for Comic-Con.  After last year’s standing-room only panel, where we had to turn away several hundred fans, we asked for a larger room and the fine folks at Comic-Con were kind enough to honor that request – so big thanks to Comic-Con.  The panel will feature a Q&A with the cast along with the premiere of some new content from The Guild.  There will be more info and a complete schedule of Guild-related events posted as we get closer to the Con.  Join us on Twitter and Facebook for the most up to date info.

• Our friends Paul and Storm, with Guild cast member Wil Wheaton and Adam Savage of Mythbusters are bringing their popular w00tstock to San Diego during Comic-Con on Thursday, July 22nd at 7:30pm at live music venue 4th and B.  All the info is on w00tstock.net and tickets are available here (this will sell out!).
• The next Celebrate the Web event will take place in San Diego in conjunction with Comic-Con on Saturday, July 24th at the Bristol Hotel with sessions at 4:15pm and 5:15pm (and mingle time before and after).  Several web series will be screened, including a sketch from the Sean Becker & Jeff Lewis created “Jeff Lewis 5 Minute Comedy Hour” (5minutehour.com).

Season 3 is currently available on DVD exclusively in stores at FYE, Coconuts, Wherehouse and Suncoast.

On Friday, October 16 at 8pm at the Egyptian Theatre in Hollywood, 6712 Hollywood Boulevard.  Location and more info on the American Cinematheque website (they’re the non-profit org that programs the Egyptian).  Tickets are $10 and available online via Fandango.

Part of season 2 of ‘The Guild’ will be screened.  Confirmed cast in attendance are Vincent Caso, Felicia Day, Amy Okuda and Sandeep Parikh.  The folks at American Cinematheque are working on arranging a panel/Q&A with Guild and Dr. Horrible cast/creators, details to come.

We are pleased to announce that the whole cast will once again be making a live appearance at this year’s BlizzCon! Taking place next week, August 21rst and 22nd in Anaheim, CA, we will be participating in a discussion panel and chatting with attendees about all aspects of the show at our bigger and badder booth! We’ll have DVDs and pictures with us for sale, and will show some exclusive content, so please stop by if you’re there and say hello!

First, we had a booth and met probably thousands of fans over the weekend! Thanks to each and every person who stopped by the booth or waited patiently in line to meet us, we were overwhelmed with all the support! Web video is hard work with low pay, so meeting fans is the thing that gets us through the solitary-behind-the-computer months. We met tons of people, check out lots of awesome photos in our Flickr Guild Group.

Xbox, our sponsor, treated us to a party on Thursday night with Beatles Rock Band and 50 lucky fans who completed our scavenger hunt got to attend with us! It was a very fun “easter egg” evening.

Next, we had a completely sold-out crowd for our Friday Morning panel, where we screened our bonus Music Video and Episode 1 of Season 3. We surprised attendees with appearing IN OUR AVATAR COSTUMES It was quite a thrill for us and we know the audience enjoyed it! Also, we revealed that Wil Wheaton will be appearing as a Guest Star in Season 3, and there will be a Guild Comic being made with Dark Horse Comics so it was an hour full of surprises. We wish every single one of our fans could have been there with us.

All of us had a fantastic time in San Deigo, but we’re already back to work! We’re launching our Music Video, “Do You Wanna Date My Avatar” on Xbox Live Monday, August 10th, and excitingly the video will go everywhere on the 17th, embeddable and purchasable as a video and a song! After that, Season 3 will launch to Gold Xbox members on August 25th and then on MSN/Zune on the 1rst of September, rolling out every week throughout the fall. We hope you enjoy, it’s gonna be a bigger season that we’ve ever tried before!

We are still an indie production and have a lot of expenses related to renting the booth and cast travel, etc. We greatly appreciate your supporting our independent show and enabling us to attend conventions like this!
