I'm not sure if this is at all important to anyone else, but for me (especially as a donor) I would hate to see The Guild get absorbed by a big media producer/distributor. One of the things that makes The Guild so special is that it is independent and internet-based. (Of course there are plenty of other things that make it awesome too!) I'd hate to see that go away.
I'm probably just being silly and paranoid. ;-) But I thought I might as well mention it.
Thanks so much for the awesome show!

^ Your not being so,
When small companies get absorbed by bigger ones they lose their “touch” and most of their fanbase and “homebrew styling”
It might be “the big break for Felicia & Crew tho…”
hmm…

To ease some possible fears of what might happen if they get funded…
The Guild hasn't found a production partner because they haven't accepted an offer yet… I am sure they have gotten many offers by now… They are looking for “the right one” and will not just settle with any corporation shelling out the moola.
From what I've gathered, these folks are in it for the craft (money is just the icing lol) Felicia will not compromise her writing. Also, its her/their work… they should be well compensated for it and not have to work under the conditions they seem to work under… only able to film when they had enough money to cover the cost of filming and crafts (I hear craft services was good in the beginning lol) (I lie heh) and not even think about paying themselves for the work they put in.
It took them forever to get these shows out the door… they want to film a bunch at a time and have them flowing better… I don't know where the show will lead in season 2, but at least they can have a steady release schedule and they can focus on other important aspects of the business as well as their day jobs (of more acting lol).
Finally, Gorgeous Tiny Chicken Machine Show was picked up… I've watched them… they come out every Friday now… oooh today! I love Fridays… back on point, the quality of their shows has remained high and possibly even gotten better (unpossible!) so this should be good when it happens with this show. Also, it will keep Bladezz off the Guild bank if his income comes from something else.
With that said, Felicia and crew will not let the “touch” go away, as offers come in, they are considered and if its not best for the fans and show, they consider another.
This post is brought to you by Coke Zero. Aaaaah, that's delicious, refreshing AND with less calories! (no, its not really brought to you by them…)

Don't get me wrong. I'm not saying I want them to struggle and not be able to make a living off of this stuff. I totally want them to be successful. But it would be nice if they could do that while remaining entirely independent.
Maybe I'm just being naive, and that's not possible. But surely there are other ways to get funding for the show? Advertisements, charging for episodes, selling DVD's, etc.
I suppose to me, if The Guild were picked up by one of the major media companies (or any offshoot thereof), I wouldn't see that as success, I'd see that as a step in the wrong direction.
Then again, it's not my show. It belongs to the cast and crew. So their definition of success is what counts. And I totally recognize that, and I wish them all the best whatever they decide to do. But I figured it wouldn't hurt to chip in my two cents. ;-)

Thank you, we really appreciate your opinion on this! We are weighing all options, the challenge is being able to do everything with only 2 people, who have other jobs, so it's hard to be able to output episodes as regularly as we would like, and to upkeep the website, and answering fan mail, etc. If we do another season on viewer donations, we will not shoot until we can shoot the whole season at once, and have a really frequent output for the whole season, so people don't forget what happened last time!
And if we partner with someone, it will be because they can provide a lot of things we can't do on our own, and the show will be able to grow beyond what we can do, not just because we can make money quick. We've already gotten plenty of offers in that area and have turned them down :)

^ I dunno codex, but I think your fan-base is your best advantage you have (and a free source of slave labour). I'm sure you could trust some fans to do some of the work… maybe some of the forum regulars…
Seriously, don't try and do everything at the same time, it slows things down, alot.
Codex, you must use the people you have! Fans, family etc. Get people who know you well to answer some of the mail. Get regulars to become moderators and etc. Let eveyone who wants to help, help. Get the regulars to maybe post a the guild banner on their forum sig (in other forums such as THG, which allow this). More awarness means more fans, resulting in more fan donations. If your dry on comedy, (I honestly hope you never will be) ask the fans.
This should leave you enough time to actually shoot the next eposide.
Side thought: Maybe if you moved the site to various socal networking sites that allow posting… such as flickr video… hmm…

I really love watching The Guild. The fact that it is an independent production makes it even better. I am a firm supporter of independent film makers and productions companies. Thank you not only giving us such a wonderful show but for holding out for the right partnership to bring forward more episodes. If there is anything we can do to support The Guild, financially or through donating our time and talents, please do not hesitate to take advantage!

This is an interesting thought. My son is a film student at UCSC, and will be home in SO-Cal for the summer. I'd bet that he'd love a chance to work on this kind of project.
