My turn :P Sup everyone my names Phil and I live in San Diego with my wife Teri and our 2 kids. I work for an alarm company as a tech and my lovley wife is a stay at home mom. We've both played WoW since beta and actively enjoy raiding content ever week. Ever since we found “the guild” we've been telling all our mmo buddys about it. Even my friends who aren't gamers really enjoy watching the webisodes. They hit the nail on head in sooooo many ways it's great! Really looking forward to more and more of them!

Having taken a year..or maybe just semester I forget..of Visual Basics..I actually understand the joke in your signature, Edward. At least I think I do..turns out computer coding wasn't my forte.

In other school related news, I did get over 97.5% on my physics exam last week, just found out about it today. Yay me. The teacher made a mistake so 2 of the answers that were marked wrong were actually correct, so my true score is gonna be even higher. /proud

Not only do I play (too much), but my avatar pic (<—- over there) is a screencap of my pet white moa bird, General Tso.

It's not as popular as WoW, but GW has two things that I really want from an MMO: (1) instanced areas so I don't have to deal with a hundred people trying to kill the same thing I'm killing and (2) no subscription.

That bird looked like a starved chocobo to me >.> Maybe I just play to much Final Fantasy.

Idk anything about GW, but I do know that WoW has most everything important instanced. There are like 8 world-spawn mobs I think, 6 of which are practically obsolete now though. Some people do like the competition, however. But yeah, most end-game stuff in WoW (raids and battlegrounds) are all instanced.

Those are probably the two main reasons why I prefer it to WoW. Being a college student, I'm not too thrilled with paying a monthly fee all the time. I mean, I will admit that I do play WoW sometimes, but I definitely take MANY breaks from it to enjoy the true mmo!

Also, I've got a question for you: Have you looked at Guild Wars 2 at all? It's supposed to be more open-ended, but with a similar instance idea. I don't know…in a way I think that ArenaNet is attempting the WoW route…I'm really looking forward to GW2, but I'm a bit worried about the final product. I'm pretty sure that there won't be a subscription, which is good, but I just really hope they keep their “We're not like WoW” mentality… Anyway, my two cents.

Peace.

Oh, almost forgot. I have been playing my ranger (main) a lot lately, so I thought I'd bring this up: even though I've gone through pretty much everything with him, my pet is still a melandru's stalker, the very first pet I ever tamed…haha. I know that there are better pets out there, but Swift Fang and I have been through a lot; we've bonded…haha, I'm weird like that…Tongue out

I was trick… errr… I volunteerd to help Felicia with anything technical (and web-related) for her personal site and now I've been volunteering my skills to The Guild crew…

I figure, the less they have to worry about things like their website, the more time they can dedicate to making content I will enjoy (and everyone else).

This is why Edgar is my boy! ( that and the fact that i HATE web design, and have a fair amt of respect for those that plod through it )

Anyway, My name is Chris, and i'm definitely a gamer.I'm 28, and I've been playing RPG's, either on console, computer, or pen and paper, for more years now than i really care to count. I got into MMO's with Everuqest, and wasn't overly serious about it… I think i got to lvl 58, back in the day. Never finished my epic weapon quest, blah blah…

I was big into warcraft and starcraft… had lan parties with friends where we would go head to head in starcraft or team up against n00bs. When we got bored, we'd bring out some Unreal Tournament or Quake to pass some time until we got bored with that and went back to Starcraft.

I remember when i first saw WoW, thinking that the graphics were so freak'n awesome! They weren't the smooth, seamless images that most of your 3d games were flaunting at the time… instead, they were PERFECT representations of the buildings and people from Warcraft 3, and that was what got me hooked.

In the fullness of time, i met my wife. She was moderately interested in gaming ( we would sit and play Burnout on the PS2 for hours together. ) Unfortunately, she wasn't interested in MMO's. One day, i was sitting on my game and chatting with a guildie on ventrilo, when my wife ( then girlfriend ), walks in and notices what i'm doing… Nothing majorly strange about this exactly, except that the particular guildie that i was talking with was *GASP* female! She pretty much lost it… that's when i said “Ok, screw this… sit your @$$ down, you're gonna learn exactly what it is i'm doing”.

Anyway, few years later, she has more 70's than i do, has started and made successfull a guild on a crappy server ( that we are no longer on ), and is probably right this moment running a heroic instance while she's at home with the kiddo.

The Kiddo…. well, she can say “QQ Mama”, walk around “Stealthed”, and tries every chance she gets to run me off cliffs when i'm not looking.

Anyway, list of good games that i would suggest anyone play if they haven't…

Diablo

Diablo II

Starcraft

Warcraft I,II,III

( all expansions for the above mentioned )

Megaman (all)

Paranoia

DnD

Secret of Mana

Lufia

Final Fantasy (all… yes, even Mystic Quest)

Burnout II, III

Gurps

Munchkin ( This one is a MUST PLAY! )

Settlers of Catan

Carcassonne

Betrayal at House on the Hill

Arkham Horror ( with expansions )

Risk, Risk 2210, Risk Godstorm

WoW the board game

Heroscape

Evo

…and alot more that i'm probably forgetting.

Peace.

Name is Mike, I'm from Redding California.

Currently I am a criminal researcher and a full time student to teach history.

I play World of Warcraft casually, used to be pretty hardcore raiding about 2 years ago.

Was not told that Warlocks also get a free mount. So I picked paladin, and regretted it.

During this casual era, I have obtained some alts All on Terenas US (my warrior was on Stonemaul (PVP US) until I xfferred off a a long while after 60.

Viser - Human Pally 70, Terenas

Aleysia - 70 Night Elf Warrior, Terenas

Janicena - 70 Undead mage - Terenas

Ornela - 70 Human Rogue, - Terenas

Hellgunner - 64 Dwarf Hunter - Terena

Missing PVP servers I decided to level a Tauren druid named Kegosaurus (42) On Natherizm U

…k now I feel sad.

But if you think thats bad, I am one of the last few Arcade Rats that used to float around Street Fighter 2 machines back in the day. its been almost 16 years of me playing that damn game and its reincarnates.

I'm Vanessa. Also from Redding, CA (small world Viser!), although I currently live in the East Bay. I graduated college last year with a degree in Management Information Systems. I currently work as a home heath aide for my grandparents. I'm also working on fulfilling the requirements to get into grad school for a degree in Information Science or something similar.

I've been using a computer since I learned to read (about age 3). The first computer I used was an old 8086 ibm clone. I've been on the internet since the prodigy and compuserv days. I used to love to play Mad Maze on prodigy and some text based zork-like game on compuserv. I've never played WoW, but I do play Guild Wars. I know what you mean about your pet dflyman, my ranger (main) still has her original stalker, I'm pretty attached to my Loki. :D In addition to GW, I play Silkroad and Runescape (okay, try not to laugh too hard at that one :p, its fun!). I also have a Wii and am currently working my way through Smash Bros Brawl.

Other interesting (or not so interesting) stuff about me… I'm addicted to books, I find it difficult to leave a bookstore without buying at least one book (often many). I also spend too much money buying books online :D. I have a small bookcase that is overflowing, each shelf is stacked 2 and 3 deep. At my mom's place I have another bookcase (much larger) that is FULL and 2 & 3 books deep. I can read a 400 page book in 6 hours or less.

I have an awesome 7 year old Bernese Mountain Dog (pretty much the most perfect dog in the world IMO) that goes everywhere with me and makes sure I don't spend too much time lost in books or on my computer. She insists on long walks every day and will start bugging me if she thinks I haven't been playing with her enough.

I think I've bored ya'll long enough :D

lol. I'm going to have to guess no on this one. I'm fairly certain that the episode was written and likely even shot well before I posted that. Maybe I'll pretend right along with you. :)

I've looked at some of the stuff they have published about GW2. It looks like they will have some persistent areas where everyone can go and some instanced (which is fine as long as there are still enough instanced areas to keep it from being annoying) and everything I have seen so far says that they “are committed” to not having subscription fees.

I mostly play as a dervish (he's the one with the white moa as a pet) and a monk, both of which started off in Nightfall, because it's more interesting than Factions, but so much easier to level than in Prophecies. It doesn't seem to matter what I do or which character I use, my pets always seem to evolve Playful –> Hearty while everyone around me has Elder or Dire pets.

Dervish are fun. I run Avatar of Lyssa. It's pretty powerful, in my opinion, and plus…you get to transform! haha. Also, my main for a LONG time was a monk. See, I started my ranger and got him to about level 15, then I started my monk, got through all of prof, factions and nightfall (that was a workout! haha), then picked up with my ranger again and have been playing him ever since. Although, it may be time to go back to my old friend Tongue out I don't know, just something about having the power to decided the fate of a party is just great. Besides, monks are just great fun in general.

Huskies are beautiful dogs, but I don't think I could handle the noise LOL, all the ones I've ever met were very vocal-not barky, but howly (I'm making up words now) heheh. Although, they are probably just as good as my Berner at drafting (pulling carts/wagons/etc).

East Redding/Enterprise area. I grew up/used to live near 44 and shasta view. My mom and a couple siblings still live over there.

Oohh yes burrito bandito, yummy!
