hey guys/girls/men/women,

I read the interview on http://www.girlsdontgame.com and codex I totally agree on you and I loved reading it (Btw, nice to read you play games for so long, I still have my amiga on my room and loved sierra/lucas arts adventures as well). It’s strange how gaming is referred to 12-15 year old boys while I believe more then 70% of the gamers is actually 18+ and 10-20% of that is actually female these days…

It’s also crazy how 13 year old guys can play games like WoW or other mmo’s because, well, they don’t have problems with females, or not yet ;) I would, if I had never let my daughter, like 13-15 year old play a game like WoW, why? Because I know how guys can be and I know how guys talk in the game. It’s redicilous that female gamers get things easyer online just because there are guys who like to flirt with them and actually think they are getting somewhere with it.

Also the best guild in the word, nihilum I think? Doesn’t allow girls inside the guild. Well it may be wrong and I do think it’s wrong but I can also understand it. Girls have a big influence inside a guild and especially on vent with their "Sweet" voice. Ofcourse this shouldn’t matter because well you can just be friends and play the game… but guys will stay guys and they will always try to find something behind the conversation they have with a female character just like zaboo in episode too: "this chatlog says otherwise" it is so true that most guys do react to emoteicons like that when it’s form a female but not when it’s from a male friend…

Why am I writing this? I don’t know I just read the interview and had to think of it, also I cannot wait for the next eppisodes. I love to watch them together with my girl.

Anyway, female gamers for the win. They keep a nice spirit up inside the guild mostly and it’s just fun to come home drunk/wasted and join the ventrilo channel to talk with some mates while you laugh your ass of because of weird questions… Ok, I didn’t just write that.

Also "mate" is not reffered to male it’s both male and female to me.

But yeah I think female gamers should get some more respect from male gamers who just see them as a "object" to play around with. Because in the end it’s the guy that get’s played anyway…

Unfortunately, some guys think with the wrong organ. Ecspecially teenagers. lol One day guys will evolve where that one instinct doesn’t reign supreme any longer. Until then, women need some e-mace hehe.

Conan when it comes out is going to 18+ only, with umm less the PG content so it will be interesting how that turns out. The west was won by women not by guns, women in gaming bring something intangible to the table that make it more then just guys hanging out on Vent killing things. I think what I mean and maybe its cause my guild is 18+ only no exceptions other then children of the guild members is that they bring a more sense of family which gives the guild more depth, which is nice because I play with people who understand my RL obligations. Since I socialize mostly online, it’s nice to talk to people who have the same problems in life I do, from baby sitting the kids to cooking dinner and if it was all just guys testosterone would get in the way and an artificial level would simply exsist without the depth to it. yeah that was a ramble probably without making alot of sense, sorry.

Why do drive up ATMs have brail?

A sense of maturity is good for a guild but the youngin’s keep the game fresh and let’s face it …fun We have a mix of all ages and it’s worked out great. I know the arguement that the younger folks act immature and all that but I’ve seen plenty of people in their 20’s that could take a few tips from those kids.

True, I am 31 and as much as the teens annoy me these days it is better than hearing old gamers mumbling incoherently about past MMORPGs they played. Like EverQuest. It scares me that some people won’t let go of that game. Then again people still play Ultima Online which I admit you are hardcore if you still pay for the official server(s?). Does ZORG even still exist? Anyways, from knowing several gamer geek girls in RL I can say that alot of females do play, though I do not blame the gender benders for jumping the fence.

It’s not a matter of age; it’s a matter of maturity, down to the point.

Well, our guild is adults only and while that may unintentionally filter out mature teens it does save a lot of trouble not having to boot all the immature ones. I think the bigger reason was no one wanted any legal issues to arise, someone’s parent getting mad because of the chat on Vent or God forbid something really bad like inappropriate relationships forming, virtual or otherwise.
