Is there any specific branch of magic that you’re most interested in?
I see that you’re into XCM and that’s very cool. Have you met John Armstrong at the Magic Castle? He’s often there and he’s one of the best card magicians in the world. (I had the honor of meeting John my first - and to date only - time at the Castle. He’s a good guy.)
Also, when at Jeff McBride’s house once, Paul Draper did a very cool mentalist effect using eight cards for me. It blew my mind but is, for the most part, self-working and very creepy.
Mentalism + Cards FTW!

Good question!
I don’t really fancy a particular genre of magic specifically, just anything that involves sleight of hand. Since I don’t use gaffs very often.
I have indeed met John Armstrong, he’s a pretty cool dude and has awesome ideas. :D
Nice to see a fellow card dude around here!

If you don't mind sharing I'd like to know who your biggest influences in magic are.
I'm partial to Darren Brown, Luke Jermay, and Eugene Burger myself.
As long as we name names and don't expose anything we should be fine here.

Many. A few off the top of my head are Dai Vernon, Richard Turner, Dan and Dave Buck, Bone, Lee Asher, etc. :)

Oh, Dai Vernon! Yeah! The Professor! I got to sit on that little love seat where he held court at the Magic Castle - had I known at the time who he was and how important he was I probably wouldn't have washed my butt after that…. Good thing I was an ignorant fool then, yeah?
The Buck brothers are amazing but man, I don't think I could ever do that XCM business. It's amazing but it's just not in my hands I don't think.
Good stuff….

Haha, I love that little seat. That's often where I plant myself when I go there. :)
Yeah, the Bucks are cool dudes. I had the pleasure of meeting them on two occasions, nice guys.
The flourishy manipulation stuff takes quite a lot of practice, but to be honest I think magic is tougher. Not as far as technical skill goes, but in the areas of subtlety, misdirection, timing, posture, angles, presentation, charisma, etc. A lot goes into a great magic performance. :)
