Actually that cartoon is a humorous commentary on a serious disorder striking many American men. This of course is redophilia. As a sufferer of redophilia myself, I know the social discomfort redophiliacs feel because every decision in life is ruled by the question “Does this decision involve a hot redhead, and if it doesn’t involve a hot redhead, how can make it so that it does?” Given the low population of “true” redheads (carpet/drapes), this makes redophiliacs very aggressive and territorial towards each other when there is a redhead in he vicinity.

SO GOOD! It’s kind of sad, watching this show actually made me start playing WoW because I guess I expected some Claras and Zaboos to come running up to me in game and trade some witty one-liners with me. Unfortunately that wasn’t the case, hahah (I quit.)

Okay back from fantasy land. Basically I’m totally hoping to see Fawkes step it up and deserve Codex because wasting Wil Wheaton on a disappointing male lead is… disappointing.

Oh, one more thing. I LOVE you averted the whole overdone “oh let’s have a forbidden secret love that we keep a secret from our friends until the season finale when it all comes out.”

Instead Codex went with option 2: pull the band-aid off, come clean with your friends, and take the shame.

Only the shame doesn’t come from Codex’s friends. It comes from her no-longer secret forbidden lover. Which is so perfect! Because part of keeping a lover secret is avoiding the reality of a relationship, and “our friends wouldn’t understand” is just a front. But Codex owns up to it and realizes that reality can bite in more ways than one.

Kudos! Overdone trope averted! And in doing so we got a more engaging storyline, which I can’t wait to see play out.

Wow, I JUST started watching this from episode 1 to episode….this one. Man, I CAN’T HANNDLE THE SUSPENSE, I JUST WANT TO WATCH MORE!! HaHa, keep up the good work!! I hope that the game you play is one day created for PC and Mac!! This is epic!!

At least for now you can get to season 4, episode 1 from Wil Wheaton’s blog, wwdn In Exile. Of course this means I found The Guild, which I love now, via Fawlks. I think I find Clara the most fun, but all the characters are a lot of fun in their own way — though so far I have not found Tinkerballa to be en-dearing. All the others have redeaming qualities, but her not so much.

Good job, guys! Fawkes’s character is hilarious to me. If Codex were just a tiny bit less insecure and neurotic, she might actually be able to deal with him. And if he were just a tiny bit less of an asshole, he might actually be deserving of Codex.

I like his “tell-it-like-it-is”iveness. Sending Venom to get his jacket is just confusing, though. It’s not like he’s too busy raiding–if he were, Venom would be raiding, too. I think sending someone else to get the damn jacket is a little passive-aggressive for no reason, which seems a little out of character for the blunt guy that he seems to be.

Also, seeing Wil in The Guild actually put me onto reading his blog. I’m weird like that.

There’s lots of speculation on what this season holds in store for The Guild’s characters, but one thing’s for certain: this season’s gonna be legendary.
I know it’s not Zaboo’s fault that he is socially retarded with girls, but I hope he’s able to meet the one that makes Codex jealous. It sucks Riley is such a sadistic bitch, because she’s a fox. And I think it’s more than foreshadow when Tink says, “There will be NO relationship. Be prepared for a depressed voice.” It’s gonna be back to square one with Codex and Fawkes and with the Knights and the Axis. Can’t wait to watch The Guild!

Zaboo is a creeper. The show has gone to great lengths to show this. He’s an obsessive stalker. In this webseries it’s made out to be cute and funny, but in real life it’s anything but.

That said, the Axis of Anarchy leader is a total tool. I really don’t think either guy is really that great of a choice.

Great start of the season 4 guys

I don’t really enjoy seeing Codex taking a beating from a guy that’s a total tool…something that everyone has been aware of since the beginning of season 3…I’m a bit over that storyline…even worse seeing Codex feed into the stereotype that all girls will go for the assholes, never mind how they tried to destroy your guild, your life and was a total jerk to everyone you care about…

Thankfully I still love the rest of the guild so I will keep watching the show because of them…but every scene that has Codex in it has been cringe worthy.

Had a great time at Comic Con 2010…The Cast of Guild are awesome…They filled the room at the Hilton and gave us a sneek peak at the Next 2 episodes of season 4…and another music video…very cool…I missed the Legend of Neil panel because i was stuck in Hall H with a guy that nearly got stabbed in the eye with a pen. Got the Comics Signed by the Cast…and Saw their Improv…Hammer Dont Hurt ‘Em at the Lyceum…To top it off…we got tickets to w00tstock 2.4 at the 4th and B…with Wil Wheaton and Adam Savage et al…Totally Hilarious…who knew Mr. Wheaton could be that funny…Sweet Pogo Dance! Fan For Life these guys rock!

I started watching this show this summer all thanks to Netflix. Apparently the fact that I liked Buffy and Dr. Horrible made Netflix suggest The Guild, and when I made the connection between Vi, Penny and Codex I was more than willing to see if Felicia Day could impress me again in a third performance. Less than a month later, I’ve watched seasons one, two, and three and now I’m still coming back for more. Suffice it to say, I was impressed. Especially with this being a web series.

I’m not an MMORPG gamer, but I still love the show and the characters. This is a great series, especially because of how true and original the idea is. But argh, Netflix conditioned me into not having to wait a week for the next episode, so catching up kind of sucks.

…Yeah, so… When exactly is this show uploaded? I’m guessing either Monday night or really, really early Tuesday based on when the comments start.

Don’t want to come off as a scrooge, but I made a comment about s4e1 that said this series needs to be careful about getting too “established” and I am going to reiterate that…please, EVERYONE from the Guild: Think back to who you’re character was in seasons one and two. Please avoid the “familiarity” with your character and the other characters that leads to lazy character development and interactions.

Remember Happy Days? Fonzie started off as so cool he was cold. A couple of seasons later he was a boob doing Broadway and couldn’t find cool in Alaska. I’m also noticing that the camera work is even less like the earlier seasons. I don’t know how much longer you plan on doing this, but you need to retain the “underground” flavor you had when this started no matter how well-known you as actors and this series becomes. It’s the key to keeping this from becoming the last season of Northern Exposure.

In other words, please keep these characters from becoming characatures of themselves. It can happen before you know it. That said, Go Guildies! This series is hilarious!

I probably should have spaced it out, but I just ran through all 3 seasons, and the first two of season 4 in over the past 5 hours. It’s now 3 am… Suffice it to say, I love The Guild, and I shall be calling out of work tomorrow morning.

I got some sleep myself, spaced it out over two days… I’m hooked, gotta get the DVDs. Keep up the great work!

Hmm… i disagree. lol. I mean its only the second episode. Plus they left a bunch of unanswered questions and potential plot lines from last season, like clara being pregnant, riley and zaboo’s breakup and rileys rebound. (subscribed!) And not to mention the obvious stuff with codex and fawkes. This seasons gonna be great. (It had me at farting to make someone taco flavored…)

And to DeepEE, i understand where you’re coming from…but i dont see it happening as of yet. I mean i agree that it could do damage to the series if it happened…but they are still FAR FAR off away from that IMO. I mean everyone seems to be growing as characters (well other than tink…but they havent really gotten into her character yet.)

An interesting possibility for Syd’spast. But keep in mind, it was Fawkes who took advantage of her when she was drunk and so judgement impared. Zaboo at least was waiting for her to choose him. Sure he try’s to influence with pheramones and an m1? line, but still she’d be in her right mind. That’s classy of him. What had stunt guy and Fawkes have going for them but good looks and …a higher charisma score perhaps?… Well, alright Stunt guy did work on the game…
